Even though we were from many different places, we all like to play the same games. At Camp Junkanoo we play with the computer,
we play games, we do many different crafts and we do many fun things.
We went to the town. I learned that many VERY big cruise ships come from the USA to the Bahamas. Do you know the difference between a ship and a boat? I think it is only that boats are smaller than ships. My Grandma and I watching the ships come in
We also went to have lunch at Senior Frogs. You can see us at Senior Frogs. There is also a place they call the straw market. They sell baskets made of straw and carvings of wood.
Here is a picture of me meeting one of the horses. At first I wanted to meet the horse, but then I was a little bit afraid. Have any of my friends pet a horse
before?
Maybe some of you have also been very brave and
rode a horse before!!!
There were people (and food) from all over the world! Some people came from Asia - like China, India, Japan and the Philippines. Some people came from Africa - like Nigeria and South Africa. And many people came from the Caribbean - like the Bahamas (where we are now), Cuba and Haiti. There were also people from the United States of America (USA). The Bahamas is not part of the USA. I am in a different country. The different people sang and did dances from their countries. But mostly, they made food from their countries. I like the chicken from the Philippines. Here is a picture of grandma and I having chicken from the Philippines.
Columbus visited five islands in the Bahamas before reaching Cuba. He named these San Salvador, Santa Maria de la Concepcion, Fernandina, Isabela, and Las Islas de Arena. Can you believe that I am in the same country where Christopher Columbus first step foot in the New World!! The status is where people here say Christopher Columbus first came on land in the Bahamas.
